CPR Classes
AHA Blended Learning Skills Testing
Oneonta Fire & Rescue Service will host skills testing sessions for the following American Heart Association (AHA) blended learning courses:
Heartsaver CPR AED
Healthcare BLS Provider
To schedule your skills testing session with one of our certified instructors.
Participants must complete the online portion of the course first and receive their completion certificate before registering for a skills verification session. (READ BELOW). Skills sessions will be limited to 6 participants per session, on a first-come, first-served basis.

Skills Verification Schedule
Skills testing sessions are offered on a set monthly schedule:

First Thursday of each month – 1:00 PM

Important Registration Information
Participants must complete the online portion of the course first and receive their completion certificate before registering for a skills verification session.

This class is designed for citizens or laypersons who want to learn CPR and AED operation. Participants must first complete the required online portion of the course before attending a scheduled skills verification session.
When arriving for the skills session, participants must provide a printed copy of their online course completion certificate to the AHA instructor for validation. Participants will not be allowed to participate in the skills session without proof of completion of the online course.
Successful completion of the skills session will result in the issuance of an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED certification card.

This class is designed for healthcare providers, including nurses, physicians, EMTs, law enforcement officers, emergency responders, and other medical professionals who require Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Participants must first complete the required online portion of the course before attending a scheduled skills verification session.
When arriving for the skills session, participants must provide a printed copy of their online course completion certificate to the AHA instructor for validation. Participants will not be allowed to participate in the skills session without proof of completion of the online course.
Successful completion of the skills session will result in the issuance of an American Heart Association BLS Provider certification card.
Click here to learn about hands-only CPR. Hands-only CPR is a public awareness campaign to get more people to act when they encounter a cardiac arrest. Around 70% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in the home, and survival depends on immediately receiving CPR from someone until help arrives.
